Overview
Infinite Curves is a next-generation color grading tool designed for Adobe Photoshop. By utilizing a highly intuitive, geometric color wheel interface, it translates visual spatial adjustments directly into complex multi-channel RGB curves seamlessly.
Unlike traditional, rigid curve editors, Infinite Curves offers fluid, localized hue targeting, allowing you to manipulate multiple chromatic targets simultaneously without ever touching the manual timeline.
Core Features
The Geometric Color Wheel
The central hub of the plugin is the geometric color wheel. Clicking anywhere within this circle drops an Anchor Point. Moving this point dynamically manipulates the underlying Photoshop curve layers along the relative color vectors.
Point Management & Luma Targeting
- Adding Points: Click an empty spot on the wheel to drop a node.
- Pipette Tool (+): Sample mid-tones, shadows, or highlights directly to create an anchor tuned precisely to a specific Luma value.
- Luma Presets: Along the bottom of the interface sits a customizable row of grey swatches (default 0, 64, 128, 191, 255). Clicking any swatch instantly creates a point locked directly to that specific lightness zone. Adding points via presets or the pipette automatically gracefully unlocks the matrix to prevent unintended distortions.
- Strength adjustments: Adjust the percentage opacity weighting (strength) of any point using the Slider beneath the main wheel. Alternatively, hover over the active point's text readout and scroll up or down with your mouse wheel.
- Deleting Points: Simply click on an existing point to make it active, then click the small X located beside its coordinate label.
Lock Mode (Relative Geometric Scaling)
Click the Lock Icon next to the Luma Presets to activate Lock Mode. When two or more points exist on the wheel, Lock Mode rigidly tethers their relative angles and distances.
By dragging one point, the entire connected matrix of points rotates and scales simultaneously. The geometry solver enforces strict boundary clipping based on the outermost point—meaning your locked shape hits an absolute invisible wall at the rim of the color wheel, flawlessly preserving relative strength weighting without distortion.
Panel Settings
Click the Settings... option inside the Photoshop Flyout Menu (top right of the panel) to customize the environment:
- Disable Logo: Hides the "Infinite Curves" banner to save vertical screen space on smaller monitors.
- Default Mask: Automatically appends an empty layer mask to the underlying Photoshop Curves adjustment layer upon creation.
- Color Wheel View: Switch the background visualization loop between a smooth, Clean blend and a Segmented, distinct aesthetic logic track.
- Layer Name: Customize the default name applied to generating adjustment layers (e.g., "Infinite Curve").
- Default Point Strength: Set the default opacity (1% to 100%) applied to newly created, freeform anchor points.
- Luma Presets: Define your five target grey values by entering a comma-separated list between 0 and 255.
Native Menu Actions
The UXP panel comes equipped with a native Photoshop sidebar menu for quick actions:
- Reset Curve layer: Instantly deletes all points from your workspace, clears out the active layer, and resyncs the script back to a neutral starting state.
- Mode: RYB / RGB: Directly toggle your active color workspace algorithm. Supported native checkmarks will indicate the mathematical space chosen, triggering a live background recalculation across all active pins.
